Camellia Ministries, a local non-profit organization, holds their 6th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Quail Hollow Golf Course in McComb, Mississippi. The tournament, open to both men and women, kicks off with AM registration at 7:30 am and a shotgun start at 8:00 am. Breakfast is being made available by Golden Living Center and Billdora Senior Care. PM registration is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am with shotgun start at 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided for all participates by Tony Chachere's Creole Food Company and a crawfish boil sponsored by Cynergy Communications is planned to wrap up the event. A hole-in-one car is being sponsored by Rainbow Dodge Chrysler, McComb, MS. Dixon Golf will be on hand to help sponsor the event. Both Ray Guy and Deuce McAllister participated in the benefit last year and we are certain to have celebrities on hand again this year. Trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third place teams, as well as awards for closest to the pin, longest drive, and the winner of the putting contest. Coordinating with the event, a silent auction is also being offered with many nice items, including autographed sports memorabilia, golf equipment and accessories, jewelry, pottery, home decorations and many other miscellaneous items. The auction will available to view through camelliaministries.org or facebook. Bidding is scheduled to start on Monday, April 28, and will continue through tournament day, ending about 6 pm on May 9. Door prizes will also be awarded. USM Men and Women's Golf Teams have joined the tournament and a USM golf team member can be assigned as a 4th team member on a first come basis.
This organization is dedicated to providing funding and other assistance for indigent home health and hospice patients and their families. Proceeds from the golf tournament and auction directly assist local home health and hospice patients and their families and caregivers. Camellia Ministries has provided financial support for medications, medical supplies and equipment, utility expenses, and other needs not otherwise affordable by the patient.
