GLYNN CO., GA (WTOC) -

Authorities in Glynn County have identified the two people killed in a plane crash near Brunswick as a Florida man and an Alabama man.

Glynn County police identified them as 28-year-old Andres Santiago Lopez of Jacksonville, Fla., originally from Ecuador; and 31-year-old Adam Christopher Griffis of Prattville, Ala., originally from the country of Chile.

On Monday, the Piper aircraft was flying from Concord, N.C. to Jacksonville when it went missing from radar in an area known as Wally's Leg.

A National Transportation Safety Board investigator says the plane was registered to ATP Flight School, and the journey from North Carolina to Florida was part of its training program.

It is still unclear who was flying the plane at the time.

The crash remains under investigation.
