Savannah filmmakers to hold safety seminar

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah Filmmakers and Savannah Women in Film and Television are holding a Safety Awareness for film, entertainment and television on Saturday.

SAFE-T will address production safety concerns. IATSE and OSHA professionals will be on hand to participate in a moderated panel discussion. There will also be a question-and-answer session.

It will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the Coastal Georgia Center inside the Auditorium 100, which is located at 305 Fahm St. in Savannah.

The panel will be moderated by Rousseau and Rebecca Etheridge. Panelists and presenters include:

  • Chris Clark, IATSE Local 479
  • Robert Vazzi, CIH, Area Director, USDOL-OSHA Savannah Area Office.
  • Jay Self, industry veteran and president and head of Corporate Affairs at Medient Studios Inc.
  • Bernie Ask, industry veteran and fFormer CEO of a transportation safety equipment manufacturer, with over 15 years in the design, installation, servicing and training Department of Transportation people in safety practices.
  • John Deifer, safety consultant and 30-year OSHA veteran.
  • Mike Neal, marine and water safety coordinator and 25-year safety veteran.

Admission to the session is free. RSVP is appreciated, but not required. A limited number of seats will be reserved for production professionals.
