ECSO seek driver in hit and run, victim critical

EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol is seeking the public's assistance in locating a hit and run driver.

At approximately 8 p.m. Friday night a female pedestrian was crossing U.S. 80 near Pine View Drive in Effingham County when she was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene traveling westbound towards Bryan County.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol are looking for a white or gray car, initially believed to be a Honda or mustang, with front-end damage and a missing windshield wiper.

The middle-aged woman was life-flighted by Lifestar to Memorial University Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

They are asking that anyone that may have witnessed the crash or any information to call the Georgia State Patrol or the Effingham County Sheriff's Office at 912.754.3349.

The victim remains in critical condition.
