Mass service held for two victims of fatal HHI crash

Family, friends and staff said their goodbyes to the two teenagers killed in last Friday's fatal wreck on Dillon road on Hilton Head Island.

Cory Rocha and Cesar Herrera died on scene when the car they were traveling in hit a culvert and tree on their way to school.

A joint funeral service was held at the Holy Family Catholic Church for both of them.

The parking lot was packed as countless people came to show their support for the families of the two teenagers.

Several people were in tears that afternoon as they're struggling to grasp that in the blink of an eye, Rocha and Herrera are both no longer here.

People made their way up the stairs, hugging each other and crying after the visitation.

But the somber mood wasn't just here at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Earlier in the day, people were putting more flowers, candles, cards, photos and T-shirts at the Dillon Road makeshift memorial to remember the two teens.

"[Cesar] was a good person, he was part of a bigger family, he supported his family a lot, he always was ready to help me out every time, they were really both two great, great individuals," said Hilton Head Island High School classmate Andrew Kirby.

At last check, the driver, Ramon Morales, and another passenger still remain in critical condition at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
