Savannah fire captains file complaint against city

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Fifty Savannah Fire and EMS captains have filed a complaint against the city and city manager, Stephanie Cutter, for what they call "pay discrepancies within the department."

WTOC spoke with local fire union officials who say they stand behind fair representation and wages across the board for the department. The complaints allege, in some cases, captains making as much as $20,000 less than newer hires, and, in some cases, less than those they are supervising.
