GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) -

Multiple police and rescue crews responded to the scene of a fatal crash on GA 25 in Garden City Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. on GA 25 between Smith and Bourne avenues near the Georgia Ports Authority. Police say two cars collided and one of the cars actually went airbourne, striking a third vehicle.

Officials confirmed that one man died instantly and two others were transported to the hospital with what officials believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Garden City Fire, Police, Georgia Ports Police and Southside Fire/EMS all worked the crash.

GA 25 was shut down in both directions at Smith Ave for several hours as investigators looked into the cause of the crash.

The road is back open.
