UPDATE: Officials arrest man wanted on assault charges

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Officers with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office have located a Winnabow man who was wanted on multiple assault charges.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, Maurice Kendell Wright, 29, was wanted for habitual misdemeanor assault, assault on a female, battery of an unborn child, and assault inflicting serious injury.

Officials say the charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 31 in the Leland area.

Wright is being held in the Brunswick County Detention Facility in lieu of a $65,000 bond.
