CARROLL COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Heavy rains caused a mudslide in Carroll County that destroyed a home near Highway 36 and the Ohio River.

According to Ed Webb, director of the Carroll County Emergency Management Agency, the house was a rental property. No one was inside when the mudslide happened.

Webb said officials are worried about other homes in the area. One other home has been evacuated.

They are not too concerned about the river rising, causing additional flooding, Webb said, although he added, "Things could change."

A geologist from the Kentucky Geological Survey Office who specializes in mudslides is on the scene evaluating the situation.
