WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -

Westlake Police have re-opened Center Ridge Rd from Magnolia Pkwy to Bradley Rd. after shutting down that portion of the street following shots fired.

The incident occurred on Saturday, April 5 at 12:05 p.m.

Officers asked residents to remain inside as they searched for the person responsible.  Residents have now been given the all clear and can come and go as usual.

City residents told 19 Action News Reporter Bill Safos that they're fine and understand law enforcement did what they had to do in order to secure the area.

Although the search has been called off, authorities will continue to investigate the incident. At this time there is no description of the suspect(s).

There were no injuries to report.

An extensive search of the area for the gunman was conducted by police personnel from Bay Village, Lakewood, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Rocky River, North Ridgeville, Metropark Rangers, the Southeast Enforcement Bureau, as well as K9s and mounted units.  The Ohio State Highway Patrol also provided a helicopter to assist with the search.

Officers confirm that ballistic evidence was recovered and will be submitted to BCI for analysis.
