Bowling for a cure for cancer

Posted: Updated:

The "Relay for Life" bowling tournament took place this weekend at Fort Stewart.

The tournament, which raises money for the fight against cancer, was hosted by "Marne Lanes" in Fort Stewart. Tons of folks came out to strike out and raise money for the fight against cancer.

Organizers of the event also plan to honor longtime WTOC anchor, Mike Manhatton, who lost his battle with cancer last month.

"I have been bowling for years myself, and we decided that we wanted to do something for relay that would count. We can't do the cancer research ourselves, so what we can do is bowl for a cure for cancer," said Wanda Julien, SNF Relay For Life Team Member.

SNF also held a memorial service for our dear friend. Mike Manhatton, who passed away from colon cancer last month. The service included a prayer service and a moment of silence. The group says they are already working on next year's Relay for Life.
