Savannah's junior roller derby team prepares for upcoming bouts

POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

There was some friendly competition going on at Sk8 City in Pooler on Sunday.

The Sk8 City Sirens, Savannah's own hometown junior roller derby team, hosted a "bunny brawl," taking on the girls from the Columbia Quad Squad juniors. The team practices at Sk8 City in Pooler each week, and is ready for go for its upcoming bouts.

"Well, our girls pretty much have one bout a month scheduled for the rest of the year. We plan half away and half at home. This is a team we have never played before, and we are having a good time. We are hoping to raise money so that we can travel, and we have a lot of fun events planned for the future," said Jennifer Trudell-Butler, Sk8 City Sirens, General Manager.
