Police continue to search for man who stole SUV with child inside

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Police continue to search for the man who stole an SUV with a child asleep in the back seat. 

Police say 12-year-old Christopher Grayson and the green Dodge Durango that his grandmother had been driving to deliver copies of the Savannah Morning News were recovered near the Coastal Empire Fairgrounds around 8 a.m. Sunday. 

Police say they found the child in good condition but shaken-up nearly six-miles from where the vehicle was stolen at the Parker's convenience store at DeRenne Avenue and Skidaway Road around 4:45 a.m. 

The suspect remains on the loose. He is described as a white male in his mid- to late- 20s, standing between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 9, weighing 125-135 pounds with a crew cut hair style. He was wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt and blue pants. 

Police ask anyone with information on the case to call Crimestoppers at 912.234.2020.
