FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) -

After returning last December from their nineteenth deployment to Afghanistan, some Fort Benning Rangers with 3rd Battalion, 75th Regiment have now been recognized for their combat actions.

In a combat awards ceremony today, April 8, the Army awarded a Silver Star, Bronze Star Medals for Valor, Army Commendation medals for Valor, and the Purple Heart.

SSG Aaron Arnold was awarded a Bronze Star Medal with Valor Device. "A lot of brave things went on that night by a lot of brave people," He tells News Leader 9. "Really, we didn't want to go home that night until everything was right, so we made sure we did everything we had to do to make sure we accomplished the Ranger mission."

During their 120 day deployment, the Battalion conducted over 127 missions. Four soldiers were killed, including two 3rd Battalion Rangers from Fort Benning.
