SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The second day of court has adjourned in the murder trial of Germaine Grant and Terrell Nelson, the two men charged for shooting and killing Achmed Williams on West 54th Street in March 2013.

The State continued to build its case against Grant and Nelson, calling on more than ten witnesses on Wednesday. Most of the witnesses were SCMPD officers working the investigation and those in the forensics unit.

The court saw pictures, some very graphic, of Williams' injuries, as well as several pictures of the crime scene itself, showing exactly where nine shell casings were collected from the scene.

Testimony from earlier on Wednesday came from two witnesses about an earlier shooting that occurred in 2012.

No one was injured in that shooting, but a witness testified about Grant's involvement in that shooting, and a detective testified about finding Grant's credit card in the car involved in the shooting.

According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigations expert's testimony, the shell casings found at both those shootings, the 2012 shooting and Williams' murder, came from the same weapon.

The prosecution asked the expert if the shells found at both scenes were shot from the same gun, to which he replied, "Yes, they were." When asked if all four shells were fired from the exact same weapon, the expert again replied, "Yes, they were."

The trial could last through the end of the week, and court will reconvene Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m.
