EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A man was sentenced Thursday afternoon to 10 years with five to serve in state prison in connection with the stabbing of a pet pig named Oliver.

A video that surfaced showed Benjamin Fullwood and two pit bulls stabbing, biting and mauling the pig that had wandered into a nearby trailer park.

Fullwood was arrested on animal cruelty charges for the attack.

The pig survived and is doing well.

Fullwood had said last year that he was wrongly accused and publicly vilified. He claims he was trying to catch Oliver when Oliver attacked him, cutting him with his tusk, and out of fear the pig would hurt children, he then screamed for help and got a knife and tried to kill the pig.
