SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

SCMPD Assitant Chief Terry Enoch singled out two officers during Thursday's awards ceremony for their work resolving a perilous situation involving a man that had jumped into the water in the early morning hours of April 5.

Santana Willis and John Gibbs were working off-duty at a private business when they were told a man was behaving strangely on the riverfront.

Onlookers pointed to the water and they saw a man struggling in the strong currents.

Willis and Gibbs worked together to try to pull the man out and almost fell in, but officers Joshua Holz and Robbie Walp, along with another good Samaritan formed a human chain to help get the man out.
