SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man was arrested after downtown Precinct Patrol officers chased him down following the shooting of a woman in Yamacraw Village on Wednesday.

Brian Aaron Keith, 24, has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction and reckless conduct.

Keith was arrested after running from an apartment on the 400 block of Yamacraw to the Greyhound/Chatham Area Transit bus station on West Oglethorpe Avenue.

SCPMD officers then encountered him as he ran north on Ann Street as they were responding to the shooting.

Keith's arrest record dates back to 2007 and he was released by the Georgia Dept. of Corrections in March 2011 after serving five months of a two year and a half year sentence for terroristic threats and acts.

A pistol in his possession was fired on Wednesday, hitting a 22-year-old woman. She was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with non-life threatening wounds.

Metro violent crimes detectives continue to investigate the shooting.
