Bulloch County burning cleared trees and stumps for new industrial park

BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

A new industrial park in Bulloch County will mean a few weeks of smoke as crews dispose of trees and stumps they've cleared.

Public Safety Director Ted Wynn said crews will burn the piles on the 70 acre tract near the intersection of Interstate 16 and US Highway 391 over the next few weeks as weather permits.

"We'll be working with Georgia Forestry for permits to do some burning," explained Bulloch County's public safety director Ted Wynn. "We'll burn during daylight hours Monday through Thursday.

Wynn said burns will be extinguished at the close of each day to minimize risks of wild fires.

"But we do anticipate some smoke to be visible at the interstate and we're going to try to keep the public impact as minimal as possible," Wynn said.
