STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

Two people face charges for a fight that led to gunfire in a crowded parking lot.

Statesboro Police charged Hunter Rush with pointing a firearm at someone and shooting within the city limits.

Police said he and Francisco Chavez got into a fist fight in the Wal-Mart parking lot. They said Rush got a rifle, pointed it at Chavez, then fired straight up in the air.

"Even firing a shot into the air is dangerous because you don't know where that bullet it going to land," said Statesboro Police officer Justin Samples. "It could hit a person, it could hit property."

Both men face affray and trespass charges. No one was hurt in the incident.
