'Savannah Youth Sing' held to benefit young musicians in need

Posted: Updated:

The Esther F. Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts chorus teamed up with the Savannah Country Day choir to host "Savannah Youth Sing," on Monday night.

"Savannah Youth Sing" is Savannah's Invitational Youth Choir Festival at the Lucus Theater. The festival is a two-part event featuring a concert program by some of the area's top schools, and community middle and high school youth choirs.

"They work so hard, and we push them so hard, and they always rise to the top and perform at just an amazing level, and have so much enthusiasm. They have so much intelligence; I mean, they are smart, our kids are smart, and so we really want people to see that," said John Tisbert, Chorus Director, Garrison School of Visual & Performing Arts.

The festival benefits Sonata, which provides music lessons to young musicians in need.
