A Savannah man has been sentenced to 90 years in prison for the
March 2013 assaults on five Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police officers during and
after a high-speed chase in which one officer was hit by gunfire.
Anthony Bernard Parrish, Jr. was sentenced as part of an
open-ended guilty plea to charges stemming from the March 6 rampage.
Parrish stole a marked patrol car at 42nd and Burroughs
streets. He then drove onto Interstate 16, eventually wrecking the patrol car
and engaging in a shootout against police.
