Man charged in Candler kidnapping, rape expected in court

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The man charged with kidnapping and raping a woman in Savannah is expected to appear in court Thursday.

Officials say Torrey Scott kidnapped the woman from the parking lot of Candler Hospital on Feb. 9. They say Scott robbed her and then forced her to drive to a secluded area on the east side of Savannah where he attacked her.

Investigators also believe Scott is connected to two sexual assaults that happened in early December 2013 near the University Commons apartments on the Savannah State University campus; however, Scott currently has not been charged in the two SSU cases, which remain under investigation.

WTOC will be in the courtroom Thursday and will let you know exactly what the judge decides.
