SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah City Council presented a proclamation to the Army Reserve in Thursday's meeting in honor of its 106th birthday, which is April 23.

The proclamation designates that day as Army Reserve Day in Savannah, an honor those men and women who do so much for our county and here in the community.

"Well, I know it makes the Army Reserve folks very happy and grateful and I'm grateful to the city for what they're doing," said Georgia Army Reserve Ambassador Luis Ccarreras. "This is a community which is very receptive to the military. Of course the military is a very important part, and it's a wonderful community and we want to make sure they remember there is an Army Reserve."
