First responders found Bachini lying in the road suffering from serious injuries. He was treated and taken to Baystate Medical Center.

Sabol, of 668 South West St., was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury, marked lanes violation, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, negligent operation and speeding, according to police.

Police found Sabol's gray Nissan Altima with front-end damage about a half mile down the road.
