JEKYLL ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Georgia's five wildlife license plate options will cost less money and provide more support for conserving Georgia wildlife.

Gov. Nathan Deal signed House Bill 881 into law, which rolls back the cost of buying or renewing a wildlife plate to $25, with 75 percent of fees going to the Dept. of Natural Resource's Wildlife Resources Division programs.

The changes are scheduled to take place on July 1.

The plates depict an eagle, quail, trout or hummingbirds, and the sale of these tags go to support programs that do not receive state appropriations.
