Expert weighs in on McIntosh County Academy sexual assault

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The founder of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children spoke out on Thursday about the sexual assault of McIntosh County students by a teacher.

John Rabun said the sexual assault case against Lori Quigley flips the gender roles we might expect to find in a case like this.

He said boys who have been victims in cases like these are often left confused.

"They're as damaged, I think, and in some cases more damaged, than girls who go through the same thing," said Rbun. "We need to be telling all of our kids, no matter which sex they are, look, when you get into a power differential thing, stop and say wait a minute."
