SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man was arrested Thursday in Jacksonville, FL, in connection with an April 8 fatal shooting.

U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force used information obtained by Savannah-Chatham Metro Police to make the arrest.

Jerome Coast Jr., 31, was arrested at a hotel. Metro homicide detectives had charged him with murder in the shooting death of 31-year-old Michael Willard James.

James was found dead just after midnight in his SUV in the yard of a house in the 600 block of West 58th Street. Police said the SUV had crashed into a car that was parked in the yard and ignited a small fire that was quickly extinguished by Savannah Fire.

Metro detectives continue their investigation. A confidential Tip Line is open directly to Metro Criminal Investigation Department detectives at 912.525.3124.
