More than 79K St. Patrick's Day wristbands sold

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The city of Savannah on Friday released sales numbers for St. Patrick's Day wristbands.

The city and the Savannah Waterfront Association audited the numbers and determined that a total of 79,573 wristbands were sold. The wristbands were $5 each. They were required for festival goers who want to drink outside of the bars and walk around within the control zone area, which included River Street, City Market down Bay Street. 

  • On March 14 there were 12,655 wristbands sold.
  • On March 15 there were 45,595 wristbands sold. 
  • On March 16 there were 13,124 wristbands sold.
  • On March 17 there were 8,199 wristbands sold.

The city gets $1, or $79,673,  and the rest of the profits, $318,292, will be split three ways between City Market, the Waterfront Association and the Savannah Downtown Business Association to fund future events and entertainment.
