Single-vehicle wreck on I-95, 4 hospitalized

PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) -

Georgia State Patrol responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-95 near the Georgia Welcome Center on Saturday.

According to police, a 19-year-old driver swerved and ended up in a ditch off the highway. The vehicle rolled over, four people were trapped and had to be extricated by the Port Wentworth Fire Department. 

Four people were transported with injuries to Memorial University Medical Center. Initial reports indicate the injuries to be non-life threatening.

    Subtropical Storm Alberto continues to bring heavy rain and a high risk for rip currents to the Gulf Coast.  Alberto is just west of Tampa and moving to north by northwest at 12mph.  Peak winds are 50 mph and no significant strengthening is expected as we head into Monday.
