Party-goers tidy up after Orange Crush

Posted: Updated:
TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

As Orange Crush comes to an end, crews on Tybee Island have had less to clean up than they expected.

Hundreds of folks partied on the beach this weekend for Orange Crush. In years past, party-goers left the beach trashed. This year, Tybee officials put out more trash cans than they usually do, and had their public works crews on hand to make sure the beach was clean for sunrise service this morning.

"There was a lot of trash left in the parking lots, which is where a lot of folks congregated, but we had our crews out there about 10:00 p.m. last night to make sure that was clean, so we had our sunrise service this morning at 6:00 a.m. For the most part, the beach and the surrounding areas were very clean," said Mayor, Jason Buelterman, City of Tybee.

Despite being cleaner, more than two dozen people were arrested during Orange Crush. We will have more details coming up later on The News.
