Undergraduate students at the University of South Carolina- Beaufort, spent Monday showing off their projects at the sixth annual Research and Scholarship Day.
Students spent the entire year researching and collecting data for a number of topics, including how tourists use travel review sites and the search for genes that allow marine crabs to adapt to freshwater environments.
"You don't really get to experience that much on an undergraduate level, as opposed to you actually can dive in here and get into some experience and research and maybe go for your passion," said student Bill Glesias. "Overall, just showing off what you worked on, it's a good feeling and people appreciate it, too."
Most of the students received scholarships for their work.
