International child molester owned home on Hilton Head Island

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

The FBI is looking for victims of a suspected international child molester, and it has been revealed that he maintained a residence on Hilton Head Island.

William James Vahey taught at private American schools abroad, schools serving soldier's children, the children of diplomats and the children of American's working abroad. He has worked in this capacity since 1972.

Vahey also inherited a million dollar home on Hilton Head's Green Wing Teal Road.

Vahey taught at schools all over the world, from South America to Europe, even in the Middle East. It is unclear how much time he spent on Hilton Head Island.

He committed suicide in Minnesota last month, and when the FBI searched his USB drive, they found dozens of pornographic photos of middle school aged boys who appeared to be asleep.

The FBI said Vahey admitted to one of his co-workers that he drugged the boys with sleeping pills and molested them.

The FBI is working to locate more victims who may not even know what happened to them.

Anyone who thinks they or a loved one may have been a victim should contact their local FBI Office. The agency has also created a confidential victim questionnaire.
