Five Guys honors local heroes with free meal

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Five Guys Burgers and Fries in the Twelve Oaks Shopping Center honored local heroes with a free meal on Tuesday night.

Local firefighters and EMT personnel received the free meal for their hard work and dedication.
Each month the restaurant recognizes local community heroes, from firefighters, police officers and active duty military to teachers.

"It's actually really thoughtful," said Southside EMT firefighter Tudor Negrea. "I can say EMS slip through the cracks sometimes. People sometimes forget that we exist, so a business doing something like this for us is a really thoughtful. Incredibly thoughtful and nice, and for everybody else, you know, military, police, teachers of course."

This is the third month Five Guys honored local heroes with the promotion.
