Savannah man indicted for Valentine's Day murder

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man was indicted on Wednesday on murder charges for a shooting on Valentine's Day.

Fashad Kennedy is accused of murdering 20-year-old Rashaad Spann on Feb. 14.

A grand jury decided that there was enough evidence to more forward with a trial.
Spann was a Jenkins High School alum and basketball star, earning WTOC's Basketball Player of the Year honors in 2011.

Spann was attending college in South Carolina and was back home to have surgery on an injured knee.

Police found him just after 2 a.m. on Valentine's Day in a car near the east end of Hawaii Avenue with a gunshot wound.

Spann later died at the hospital.
