OZARK, AL (WALB) -

After going 20-0 in conference play, the Albany State Golden Rams were the odds-on favorite heading into the SIAC Tournament.

However, the Rams find themselves fighting for their season after the opening game.

Kentucky State, the West Division's four seed, knocked off ASU 7-5 in Wednesday's opener.

The Thorobreds, who entered the game at 14-36, led by as much as five in the sixth inning, then held off a Rams' rally to clinch the upset.

Albany State now must win out or go home.

They'll try to keep their season alive Friday morning against Benedict. First pitch is at 9:00 a.m.
