EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

It was a busy morning for firefighters in Effingham County after fighting two different house fires overnight.

Just after 2 a.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a call of a structure fire in Clyo near the South Carolina line at 7803 Highway 119. No one lived at the home. A fire investigator has been called out to determine a cause.

Another blaze happened around the same time at different vacant structure on Hodgeville Road, destroying the right half of the home. Officials say they do believe the Hodgeville Rd fire is a case of arson and are actively looking for a suspect or suspects.

No injuries were reported in either fire.

The state fire investigator will be out first thing Thursday morning to look into the cause of both fires.

If anyone knows anything about the fires or saw anything suspicious, call the Effingham County Sheriff's Office.
