An 18-year-old is scheduled to be sentenced Friday in the Lowcountry and faces up to 20 years in prison.

Austin Almeida entered a guilty plea earlier this year to charges stemming from a May 2013 incident at Bluffton High School.

Bluffton Police say he took a loaded Glock 22 handgun, knives, gasoline, lighter fluid and a lighter to the school, causing it and two other nearby schools to be placed on lockdown.

The sentencing had been delayed pending a psychiatric evaluation, which is suppose to be complete and presented at the sentencing on Friday.
