Pooler Police, FBI searching for victims of child molester


Police and the FBI are looking for victim's of an accused child molester.

Officers raided a house on Ryans Way in Pooler. They said they found dozens of videos of Matthew Coniglio, 46, having sex with unconscious women and girls.

Acquaintances described Coniglio as soft-spoken and mild. Right now, police are working with the FBI to try to identify his victims, people they said may not even know they've been victimized.

Coniglio is believes to have been abusing girls since at least 2000.  

Coniglio live in Pooler for only a month before police said they spotted him swapping child pornography. Before that, he lived in Bluffton, on Hilton Head Island, in Savannah, in Charleston, and in Kingwood, TX.

Coniglio was arrested after his home was raided on April 10. Ten days later, he committed suicide in the Chatham County Jail.

"Any parent who may have come in contact with [Coniglio] or he may have come in contact with your children, we're encouraging them to call us and just discuss the case," said Pooler Police Chief Mark Ravenew.

An important thing to remember, this man is believed to have been active for at least 14 years, so his victims may now be adults.
