Richmond Hill business jumps at chance to be severe weather donation center

Tornadoes have killed 16 people in Arkansas and destroyed buildings and houses over the last several days.

One group in Richmond Hill is doing what they can to help the victims.

Collections started in Richmond Hill, and they're already seeing people bring donations to do what they can to help those in need.

Sandra Elliot at Georgia Game Changers jumped at the chance to be a collection site or relief supplies sent to tornado victims in Arkansas. Customers like Steve Stevens gave without a second thought.

"Because they need help," said Stevens. "As a member of the Lions Club, that's one of the things we do."

Elliot said it's a great feeling to see people around the nation rally to support those hit by disaster.

"You saw it with the Boston Marathon, how people just came together because of that tragedy, and you see if happen in America more ofter than not," said Elliot.

She said the running store's slogan doesn't just apply to running. .

If you wish to donate items, you can at Georgia Game Changers, 60 Exchange Place, Richmond Hill. They are taking donations through May 4.
