US Marshals, Beaufort police arrest burglary suspect

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

U.S. Marshals and Beaufort police captured a burglary fugitive early Thursday morning at a local motel.

Calvin White Jr. was wanted on second-degree burglary charges by the Richland County Sheriff's Office.

Police said he broke into a Columbia home in and stole more than $1,800  in electronics.

Beaufort investigators determined that White was staying at the America's Best Inn on Boundary Street, according to police.

On Thursday morning, police officers and U.S. Marshals with the Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested White at the motel without incident.

He was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center to await pickup by Richland County authorities.
