FedEx shooting victim out of hospital, wants to go back to work, says mother

KENNESAW, GA (CBS46) -

One of the victims in Tuesday's shooting at the FedEx plant in Kennesaw is out of the hospital and in good spirits, according to his mother.

Brandyn Stonebraker was in one of the loading dock areas when 19-year-old Geddy Kramer started firing shots. Stonebraker's mother, Theresia Sutton, said her son didn't immediately realize he'd been shot until he looked down and saw blood.

"He was in shock of what had happened, and they kept him overnight at the hospital," said Sutton. "It's going to take some time to digest, but I think he'll be OK."

She said her son has a fragment from a shotgun blast lodged near his stomach, but he is expected to make a full recovery and wants to go back to work at FedEx when possible.

"I hope he's able to get past this, and he's able to get back to work and have some normalcy after this," said Sutton. "My main thing is I'm really worried about his mental state. That is a huge thing to go through."
