LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Limestone County EMA is reminding everyone to be patient with debris removal.

The EMA said residents can pile trees, limbs and brush on the back side of ditches, away from roads, but should not place it in drainage ditches or on roadway shoulders. Debris should not block fire hydrants or mailboxes.

Construction and building materials should not be moved to the right-of-way since it's not considered eligible for removal, according to the EMA.

The EMA said white goods, such as appliances, propane tanks and household hazardous waste (paints, pesticides etc) should be separated and disposed of by homeowners.

Property owners are advised by the EMA to check their insurance policies for debris removal coverage.
