Runners partake in annual Azalea Run

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Runners and spectators woke up early Saturday morning to go on a lovely stroll through downtown Savannah to raise money for crime fighting in the Crimestoppers Azalea Run.

The runs all started on Gaston Street and proceeded to go throughout Savannah's Historic District taking runners by Forsyth Park, Bull Street, and Daffin Park.  A 15K race was added this year, combining the courses of the 5K and 10K runs. This year marks the best turnout they've ever had for the run.

All the funds for this event will go to the rewards Crimestoppers offers for solving crime in our community.
