HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A New Leash on Life, Forgotten Felines, and Petsmart teamed up to hold a massive pet adoption over the weekend in honor of National Pet Adoption Weekend.

Around 90 dogs and cats were available for adoption. They're all vetted, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.

Organizers said one adoption is helping even more now after Monday's tornadoes.

"We're at full capacity, and animal services is, so ever adoption made here opens up room for more adoptions or animals we can save," said Cheri Mead with New Leash on Life.

Adoptions will continue Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. under the big white tent in front of the Jones Valley Petsmart in Huntsville.
