BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

A memorial service will be held Monday for a 12-year-old who officials say took her own life last week in the Lowcountry.

On Saturday, family and friends gathered in Beaufort for a candlelight vigil for Celeste Wills, to not only remember Celeste, but to also bring awareness to bullying.

Celeste's parents say they believe she took her own life because she was bullied and that they had no idea that it was happening.

"I don't know how but that beautiful smile covered that pain from day to day to day," said Dale Wills, Celeste's father.

A fund has been set up in Celeste's name. Click here to donate.

The memorial service will start at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaufort.
