BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

Many in Bulloch County are mourning the death of a little boy with an enormous spirit.

Aaron Oliver battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, or ALL, since a diagnosis last May.

Last November, WTOC followed 7-year-old Aaron when he fulfilled a wish to be a fireman. He was Statesboro Fire Department's first "Firefighter for a Day."

Firefighters in Statesboro said they felt like little Aaron was part of the family, even though he only worked one day with them. But that day made as much impact on them as it did him.

Flags were at half staff to remember the little boy who was their first "Firefighter for a Day" last November. Aaron battled the form of Leukemia for 12 months before he passed away this weekend.

Firefighters told me today they still remember that day of taking him on calls and showing him what it means to be a fire fighter.

When the parents make the funeral arrangements, the chief said it will include full honors.

A visitation will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with a funeral service following at 4 p.m. at Hodges-Moore funeral home on Northside Drive East in Statesboro.
