SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Four people were arrested Thursday in connection with a five-week investigation into drug sales at two homes in the 100 block of West 33rd Street.

The Tactical Investigation Unit of Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Dept.'s Central Precinct had investigating drug sales after getting complaints from residents about the transactions and crimes related to them.

Police arrested Adrian Gardner, 32, on two counts of sale of controlled substance and violation of parole; Manny Engram, 26, on two counts of sale of controlled substance and violation of parole; William Floyd, 61, on two counts of sale of controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and Diane Parris, 41, on two counts of sale of controlled substances and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

"This is the sixth operation led by the Central TIU in this area in the past year and that has significantly decreased crime and increased the public's willingness to come forward and help law enforcement clean up the area," he said. "We still have a long way to go but we are committed to a goal of moving criminal activities away from these neighborhoods," said Capt. DeVonn Adams, commander of the Central Precinct, in a news release.
