Fire damages Arcadian Street home

A fire damaged a home on Arcadian Street in Savannah.

It happened at about 7 a.m. at a home in the 1900 block of Arcadian Street just off of Liberty Parkway in Savannah. Officials say the fire started on the patio in the back of the home and quickly spread to the attic. The home has a double-roof which caused the fire to get trapped between the two. No one was injured.

Power had to be cut to the home and a woman was displaced by the fire due to smoke and water damage. She declined assistance from the American Red Cross and is staying with family members.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. However, officials say they do not believe the fire was set intentionally.
