SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are searching for an auto theft suspect who attempted a break-in at a Savannah business with the stolen vehicle.

Officials say that while patrolling an apartment complex on Caroline Drive Saturday, Metro officers recovered a white Ford Econoline van reported stolen by Dynamic Care Transportation at approximately 6 a.m. April 28.

Surveillance footage linked the van to an attempted break-in at a Cricket Mobile store on the 7900 block of Abercorn Street on April 27 at 11:27 p.m.

Detectives are investigating whether the suspect is tied to three additional commercial burglaries on Savannah's southside during the late-night hours of April 27 into April 28, according to SCMPD.

The suspect is described as a black male with a slender build and standing about 5-6 to 5-8.
